November 7, 2002 — According to Variety, 'Solomon Kane' is the latest Robert E. Howard character to be developed for the silver screen. New Line Cinema has picked up a pitch for the colonial American fantasy from screenwriters David Jung and Steve Dandois. The pic will be set in colonial America, and incorporates elements from Howard's stories. "Kane's heroic quest pits him against deadly human and occult forces as he seeks revenge on the shape-shifting sorcerer who destroyed his family." Don Murphy (The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Hellboy) and Gregg Hoffman (Only You) will produce along with Paul and Michael Berrow, who control author Howard's estate.
