| How excited (or not) I am to see this movie... |

| How bad can a film about zombies be? Plus, after Shaun of the Dead I was in the zombie mood. |

| My thoughts on this movie... |
|
| The first ten minutes of this film made me believe that zombies existed and were coming to get me. It was that good! After that though this degenerates into a fairly conventional and frankly boring "horror" movie with comedy bits that aren't funny, horror bits that aren't scary, and a zombie baby that appears for 1 second then gets shot. What a waste. Zombie baby? You could make an entire film out of that concept alone and the makers of this choose to kill it before it does anything. Ving Rhames walks about wondering why ever since Pulp Fiction he's been cast in crap like this, most zombie shooting scenes are off camera letting the audience only hear a gunshot and use our imagination (In other words about as scary as a fish), and the other cast members are so dull and ordinary that you rarely give a toss if they die or not (unlike Shaun's characters). Perhaps the weirdest thing of all is that this "remake" has chosen to make the zombies superfast Olympian runners rather than the classic slow-moving monsters we've been so frightened by in the past. The even more rubbish and over-rated film 28 Days Later had these type of zombies, made out to be infected with "rage" and that rage means they can run like the wind. Running zombies is like a vampire in a wheelchair, useless. The whole point of zombies being scary is that you could be locked in a room with them, and they're so slow at first you'd be laughing at there purile attempts at "getting you", but sooner or later you would have to go to sleep or black out or something, and that's when they would get you. Thats why they're creepy and horrible. Besides, zombies are meant to be walking corpses and by that alone they wouldn't be able to run as they're muscles would be too flat. Theres also very starnge closing credit sequences throughout that are neither scary or funny just plain old weird. I didn't like this film but I loved the first 10 minutes. |

| Thoughts on the DVD release of this movie... |
|
| Buy the DVD then scratch out most of the film leaving only the first 10 minutes to watch. Because after that oh god does it get BORING. |
