March 6, 2003 — According to Variety, director Zack Snyder has been signed to direct the new 'Dawn of the Dead' remake. The flick from Strike Entertainment and Universal Pictures, will use a new script by writer James Gunn and will focus on a "younger cast" than the original. Snyder's previous work includes Soul Asylum's "Somebody to Shove" music video.
