Well folks, we've come to the end of another long wait, 8/9 days left till Harry Potter and the order of the phoenix (depending on what part of the world you are in of course) so let the countdown commence

Ah... but of course... silly me... I have just forgotten something, we are also on a countdown till the VERY LAST Harry Potter book, let us not grieve for its passing(when it does) remember it maybe the last book, but we will always have the books, the films obviously, and the fond memories that we have, for instance I first started reading the harry potter books back in 1998, and as much as I have found them enjoyable, at times I they have also been rather helpful in the sense that when I wax stressed or whatever, they helped me get over it, one read through of the series as it were and I was back to normal, God Bless Harry Potter (I don't care what them book burners say, stuff them, God Bless Harry Potter)

I remember when Goblet of Fire came out, I walked into my parents' room, and saw all these people lined up for the book on the news. Ya know what I said? In my young years (and in stupidity and ignorance and utter !&*%^@#), I said, "What idiots," and other stuff I can't remember.

Can you believe it's only 2 weeks to go!? I first passed Harry Potter off as a kiddies' book. How wrong was I lol. God bless Harry Potter for sure, but God bless my Dad for introducing me to it.

I still remember waiting inline at the midnight launch of HBP, drunk as a fart, eating a kebab, but waiting eagerly for my book. I barely managed to get through the first chapter when I got home. So determined, yet so off my face lol.

Here's why I got into Harry Potter:

This occured after Goblet of Fire had been released in Hard Cover, but not in paperback yet, and also before the lunatic bible bashers had decided that Harry Potter was their target of the year to relieve their boredom...

I certainly had heard some of the hype about the Harry Potter books, but hadn't any incentive or interest to prompt me to read any of them.

I then read about an interview that had been given to a medical doctor, and one of the questions involved naming the last four good books that he had read. He said that he COULD have lied and told the interviewer that they had been some kind of great intellectual novels and such, but he admitted that three of them had been the Harry Potter books (didn't say which ones, but there were only four at the time).

At that point, I knew I had to see what was going on. I went out and bought a copy of The Sorcerers' Stone, and the rest is history.
