Critic Rex Reed bashes Goblet of Fire

SUBMITTED BY bmw_666

November 21, 2005

Rex Reed gave his opinion on the latest adventure in the Harry Potter series. Here is some of what he said:

Worst of all, this movie is so violent, you'd have to be a sadist to send children off to watch the ghastly things that Harry is subjected to here. Stabbed, burned, beaten and tortured, with corpses piling up around him in every scene, Harry never sustains a bruise and never breaks his glasses, but still.

confusing? What is this guy stupid or something? My Dad who did not know the back story and never read a line from the book saw this movie and understood it fine. Violent? Yeah buddy that's what it's rated PG-13 it's as violent as Star Wars ROTS and any LOTR film (maybe a little more violent then some of those films in places) Dude Harry at the very beginning had bruises and blood all over his body. After the second task he had bruises on his body. After the third task he had bruises on his body after the first task he had bruises on his body and the same goes for his confrontation with Voldemort. Jesus what a dumb ass!

i am 22 years old and went to see "Harry Potter and The Goblet Of Fire" the first day it came out and i think it is absolutely FANTASTIC. I've seen all four and this one is by far the best. Im have just started reading"Harry Potter and The Order Of The Phoenix" and i can't wait to see the movie.

oh who cares what those critics say anyway? I think $50-something MILLION dollars says it all. Yes, for the umpteenth time, this movie is more violent than the other three...why is it so hard for people to see that these kids are growing up? They cant stay 11 years old forever...and the kids iwho read these books are growing up with these movies. I thought the movie was great...I dont pay any attention to movie critics....they seem to bash the movies that go on to do great at the box office.
