Now that Dumbledore is dead, where does all of his things go? I was thinking maybe Harry might inherit them, or they might just stay in his office. I was also thinking maybe Harry will inherit the pensive since he might need to look back on the memories of Voldermort to find the other horcruxes. What are your opinions.

"I realised I can't shut myself away or crack up. It could be me next, couldn't it? But if it is, I'll make sure I take as many Death Eaters with me as I can and Voldemort too, if I can manage it."

"You said to us once before," said Hermione quietly, "that there was time to turn back if we wanted to. We've had time, haven't we?"
"We're with you whatever happens", said Ron.

Have you read the winning entries to MuggleNet's Opening to Book 7 Writing Competition ? The winner, 'Answers', had McGonagall deliver a box to Harry containing all important memories Dumbledore had on certain people, left to him to view in the Pensieve

Anyway, I think anything that would be invaluable to Harry for the task he's got to achieve Dumbledore would leave to him. But there was a lot of wierd things in his office that were barely described and just glanced over so they may not be important. I'd say his possessions would be given to Aberforth or perhaps kept by the school. Though I wouldn't be surprised if the Pensieve was left to McGonagall.

Yea, I did read it, but that was also just a fan fiction story someone just made up.
I did also think that maybe his possesions would just stay at hogwarts but I was wondering if someone had a different opinion or idea.

Of course it's fan fiction, I wasn't implying it was anything but. I was just bringing it up because it involved Dumbledore leaving stuff to Harry in his will.

There's the possibility that some of his things will be left to the Order. Well, someone in the Order for specific use by them.

I agree with you Chou_Zu. I have a feeling his possesions may stay in Hogwarts as well.

But another possible idea could be that they are moved into the Order's headquarters (if they find one). Are they still going to use 12 Grimmauld place?

On the other hand, some of tht silver instruments may be of use to members of the Order? Perhas Dumbledore has left clues in themfor Harry?

These are all wild guesses, but I am sure JK will come up with something way better than all of our ideas!!!

You know the FAQ poll on JKR's website ? There's this question which is winning at the time which is "What happens when a secret-keeper dies ?" So I just had this idea that maybe Dumbledore was Secret -keeper of something, maybe of that secret between him and Snape. So now that he has died, what will happen to the secret ? I think this question will have an interesting answer, if it wins.

'Well the devil with Barty and his rules. And since when did you accomodate the Ministry ?'

It's finaly updated? Gotta check that out.

edit: I voted for the Horcrux question. I made a thread about that on the book 7 board, so i've been wondering about it for a while now.

I voted for the Secret-Keeper question.

Don't forget, Dumbledore has a brother named Aberforth. Seeing as Dumbledore was old, I think his parents are dead, and I don't think he has a wife or kids. So I think that everything will go to Aberforth, and that everything that has got to do with Voldemort and the prophecy will go to the Order and to Harry and Hogwarts
