I'll be honest I am of the belief that a film is effected by the score for the film and the begining with the WB logo had that naff music that didn't, in my opinion, it didn't have any effect, there was no feeling in it, there was no sense of evil or anything ominous, it didn't sound like it would be the kind of film that it was, also the the Riddle house was cool, not bad for a pretty much derelict house. The bit where nagini appeared wasn't as I expected, originally from the book it sounded like he was shivering in his books, maybe it was a case of he was to caught up in the film with what they were saying in the room. Can I ask you something, in the film does he fully pronounce avada kedavra, cos all i heard was avada kedava, my tabs probably needed cleaning out. As for frank falling, and seeing him, i feel that instead of seeing him that the scene should have gone black and we should have heard a heavy thud, but that too is my opinion.
All in all this first scene was enjoyable, 3/5 for it, but the score only 2/5
[ hopefully they'll bring back John Williams] Rule Britannia yeah! lol |

I didn't think the music was bad. But I'm not an expert in music, so you may know better.

Sorry, I can't remember.

Hehe, okay, fine, I'll join.
The Riddle House
When I saw the WB logo, I was about to fall off my seat. It was the moment I've been waiting for. I'm glad that they went with the same effect of showing the logo as they did in PoA, a 3D logo in the dark.
Didn't like the snake at all. Looked too fake.
The music was quite good, IMO. It was very haunting and sounded great. When Frank Bryce was in the Riddles' mansion with his latern in the dark, it was a scary scene. Even thought I read the book, I had to close my eyes a bit b/c you never know what the director might've done..like inserting a out-of-nowhere eye-popping stuff, lol. I thought it was well-done.
Frank eavesdropping on Voldemort's conversation with Crouch Jr and Wormtail wasn't that intense as I thought, but I didn't mind. Again, I didn't like the snake. When Wormtail opened the door and stared at Frank, I thought he looked too confident. You know, with the big eyes and all. I imagined him to be nervous, shy and all. And the "Avada"..it was amazingly awesome! Loved it!
Harry wakes up at the Burrow, they meet the Diggorys, then take the Portkey
When Harry woke up in Ron's room, I thought the no-music was great. After the music in "Avada", it ended right when he woke up..so, yeah..
The humour b/w Ron and Hermione was great, too.
I thought that Burrow looked a bit too fake, but I guess it was only me. I agree with Andrew. The camera going through the long grass was artistic and the scenery was awesome. Loved it. The Portkey..wow, I loved it. Also loved it when Arthur yelled at Harry to grab the shoe. I was like.."Harry, what the hell are you doing?!? Grab the shoe!", lol.
I thought the whole Portkey scene was nicely done. The special effects were great. I absolutely loved it.
Btw, I also agree how Arthur, Amos and Cedric walking in the air was funny. Well..to be frank, I didn't think it was funny. I thought it was kinda corny and that they should've fell down onto the ground like the rest did. No offense. The Howling X-Stud

sorry, my computers been down ive been dealing with a pile of homework *gulps*.
anyway, scenes.
riddle house
i thought this scene was an excellent beginning. the music that i thought would be horrible tied in nicely. when i saw the logo i grinned and sat up in my seat. the one problem i had with this scene was Nagini. im sorry, but that wasnt how i pictured her. i was fine with the parseltongue and the showing of crouch jr.
burrow, portkey
i found this scene a bit odd. it had a nice transition and i found the thing between ron and hermione funny. the portkey, on the otherhand, wasnt how i imagined. i found it excellent how they did it but it still wasnt what i thought it would be. cedric popping out of a tree was funny and weird and same with cedric, mr.weasly and mr.diggory walking landing on the ground perfectly.
The campsite, the Qwidditch World Cup match and celebration in the tent : i was angry with Qwidditch being cut but it had to be done. the first sight of the tent i thought that it was just like i had pictured it to be. at harry's comment i must've given a weak smile or something. i agree with Roonil about the celebration. it was excellent because it showed boys being boys. it just sucked that there was no Qwidditch!! say "your an eight" five times fast
"I'm an eight, im an eight..."
...."Nevermind."
Now for a Stargate:Atlantis moment...
Becket: My turtles!
Weir: What?

The campsite, the Quidditch World Cup match and celebration in the tent :
I liked how the campsite looked. It was better than I thought; tents small on the outside and big on the inside, teenagers flying on their brooms above the campsite. Harry's comment left me a smile on my face, lol. It was amusing, IMO.
When the Weasleys were on their way to their places, Lucius was there with Draco. I liked his first appearance in the movie. "Enjoy it while you can"..lol, loved it how Jason Isaacs delivered that line.
The World Cup..I like how the stadium was set out. It was well-done. It looked real. I loved how they did the fireworks and the dancing Leprechaun, lol. Both of the Quidditch teams gave a good introduction. The music was quite good, too...dramatic. And I was and still am pissed how they didn't show the match. But yeah, it had to be done. Damnit!
The celebration..I liked it how Newell showed that the boys were being themselves. It showed how they were growing up and all. Funny scene, I thought. The Howling X-Stud
