I'll be honest i dont actually like listening to music when i read - it would be like trying to take in two worlds, it would be impossible, i like to see what i'm reading in my head, the music would push out the image of the harry potter world, it would make me think of other things and not harry potter, so i just read in silence.

i always listen to the Harry Potter soundtracks.
nothing else.
why?
if you had the opportunity to read a book and listen to John Williams, you'd do it too.

John Williams.
You know you love him.

I always listen to A Window to the Past when I read the sad parts. I always listen to either The Whomping Willow and the Snowball Fight, Quidditch, Third Year, or the Werewolf Scene when I read the action oriented parts. So thank God for John Williams!

I don't listen to music when I read, or have any kind of noise. It's better for my concentration.

I don't hear music in my head, either.

i either listen to the soundtrack, classical or celtic music, my radio or other cd's i have. my preference changes every now and then. so one day, for example, ill listen to the soundtrack, then gladiator and then ill all of the sudden switch to nickelback.

i listen to music because sometimes i cant stand to be in complete silence. my ears will either make these throbbing sounds or ill think someones in the room with me. sometimes i dont even notice the music is playing until something loud comes on or the cd ends. its very weird...

say "your an eight" five times fast
"I'm an eight, im an eight..."
...."Nevermind."

Now for a Stargate:Atlantis moment...

Becket: My turtles!

Weir: What?

I have a "Themes of Harry Potter" compilation that I made that just has my favorite tracks from all the HP soundtracks. I just put that on a loop when I read the books.

Same here. I just read the books in a quiet place, so that I can imagine the scenes in my head and having music just takes it away. No offense, btw.

Well, I think what I listen to is kind of obvious! I usually have at least one Josh Groban CD going while I'm reading. I've got a 3 disc changer & I'll usually have one or more Josh in there, along with Michael Buble or my Disney collection, or a classical music one. The classical kind of makes it nice, because it'll usually match what I'm reading!
