Movie Mania reports that Beeban Kidron will direct Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason, starring Renee Zellweger, Colin Firth and Hugh Grant. The highly anticipated sequel to 2001s Bridget Jones Diary is expected to start shooting in November, with co-financing from Working Title's parent Universal and Miramax.

Kidron, whose previous movie credits include "To Wong Foo, Thanks For Everything, Julie Newmarr" and "Swept By The Sea," has long been the front-runner for helming job, but all depended on Zellweger's agreement.
