June 19, 2003 — Variety reports that Beeban Kidron ("To Wong Foo, Thanks For Everything, Julie Newmarr") will direct the sequel to Bridget Jones's Diary.

"Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason" is adapted by Andrew Davies and Helen Fielding from Fielding's own follow-up to her first Bridget Jones book. In it, Bridget discovers that life with Mark Darcy isn't quite as perfect as she dreamed. The original movie was directed by Sharon Maguire.
