Ok...ok...try this one he played agent smith as well in the matrix trilogy. He has the face, and he has the moves, look how he busted in the matrix fight scenes. So what if he is'nt that buff, neither was cyclops or superman. He has the face and the eyebrows and voice. I am right and there is not a greater actor to play him!
The rock would be my second pic though. I mean in the picture in the left hand corner he has the rocks eye. and body and eyebrows.
I agree with you! I think Hugo Weaving would be a great choice, he looked EXACTLY like Namor when I saw the LOTR films. HOWEVER......... and this is a BIG, HOWEVER......... Weaving isn't what you would call an "opening" actor, or a star...... someone who could have people line up at the box office to shell out (in SOME cases), 10 bucks a pop to watch him for 2 hrs. That's not to say that the casting of Hugh Jackman was a bad idea as Wolverine, but Wolverine was part of a TEAM of super powered people.......and therefore you couldn't have him overshadow anybody else in the film...... it just turned out that way! Weaving, I don't know, if Universal would want to entrust him in the lead role. The Rock, however, from the standpoint of business, makes more sense, due to his bonafide star quality now. I also think, however, that you might still be able to get a crowd to come see a Sub-Mariner film with an actor such as Jim Caviezal (Jesus in "The Passion of The Christ), who's an awesome actor, who actually has the features and does resemble Namor in a way. With a little bit of make-up, a set of pointy ears, ankle wings (if they even include those in this flick), and a good deal of time in the gym....... I think Caviezal could do a heluva job as Namor. And at the same time, bring in the box office. |

True he as the built. He sure can play the character. But one thing. The Rock has too much sun. Namor is very white.
Yes, it's been rumored for some time now that The Rock is attached to star in this, but I believe the reason that he is, is because he's got a great working relationship with one of the producers, Kevin Misher, who produced two of Rock's other flicks (The Rundown and Scorpion King). But just because they say that he's attached dosen't necessarily mean that he's going to be in it. Plus, something else to keep in mind: Yes, Namor is white in the comics, and Rock isn't ....... however, he's part Atlantean and part human, so maybe they are thinking that if they do indeed cast him, that his human father will be black as well. Maybe they'll even give him blue skin, to take on the color of his Atlantean mother(?) You never know...... the way the screenplay is written, they may have done just that. However, they might be looking at a white, unknown actor (maybe somebody from the U.K.)? Hollywood seems to be getting a lot of good star-quality men/women from over there. |
