For the longest time I've been thinking that The Rock, from a business point of view for an action-adventure film, would make good sense to cast as The Sub-Mariner. But I've seen some other really good choices thrown around, either from other sites (of which I won't name here, for fear of them being rivals of THIS site), or from other people who I know have chimed in about. A couple of really good choices were thrown out there: Joaquin Phoenix, or Jim Caviezal. My personal opinion of them both, is this:
A) Phoenix is a pretty good actor, and DOES share a striking resemblance to the Avenging Son (look at his likeness from "Gladiator" and the image of the Bust of Namor on THIS page), and you'll see what I mean. However, which now leads to

B). Jim Caviezal. His star turn in "The Passion of the Christ", and the amount of money that film has generated so far, just may give people at Universal Studios pause to think of him for the role. His acting ability is really second to none, and I think with just about a little more than a year in a gym and some swimming lessons, I think he could do it.

How about you all? Any other choices that you'd like to drop in on this?
