I've often felt that what will be the MOST important aspect of this film (other than a top-notch script), is who shall be helming this project? Any ideas, anybody? I've thought that Peter Jackson would be a great choice. Admitedly, it wasn't until I saw the Lord of the Rings films that I thought about Jackson, but I've seen how he handles characters and there emotional journey in a film, so that's why I've thought of him before. Also, I've thought that Peter Weir would be a great choice too.......but I don't know if he would want to direct a "Comic-book film" in the first place. How about it guys and gals........any other suggestions, here??

Well, it's actually really good to bring this topic back!! Now that today's news show's that Universal and Marvel are actively seeking to bring Chris Columbus on board as director of this film. My thought on this is that I think that this project really needs a director who can really delve into the dark side of the Sub-Mariner character. I don't know if Columbus has what it takes to accomplish this. But, hey, if it winds up getting Namor to the silver screen a lot faster, I'm ok with that!

Well, here I am back on this topic again! But that's cool, because apparently it's been made official: Chris Columbus is DEFINATELY going to be directing this flick. Which I think is an interesting choice, actually. Now that they have HIM directing, it should be fairly interesting to see who they bring in to actually PLAY Namor. But I think this is a really good choice, and truly legitimizes the choice for a major player such as Universal to buy up this property. It's something I'm sure Columbus will do a great job on.

Well, I am not much of a fan of the character so I haven't responded to your earliers posts (something about not having anything nice to say). But I'll play along and agree that Chris Columbus is a good director. He'll have his hands full trying to make Namor interesting.
