Well, I agree that it wouldn't be such a bad idea to have The Rock play Namor, but I agree how good it is from the business sense of it all. He's a bonafide action star, who's really not a bad actor at all. He's MUCH better than some of his other former pro-wrestler buddies, so that's a good thing. However, Sub-Mariner was a WHITE skinned Atlantean, where all the other Atlanteans were Blue skinned. Normally, I think, as a BIG fan of this comic, years ago I think I would've put up a big stink about tht fact that he's a light-skinned black actor. But now that I'm much older and wiser, I think that it isn't a big deal. From all angles, it would make a lot of sense. But I'm more concerned about who it is that will be directing this, to be really honest. Don't know who they are thinking about putting behind the camera for this. But, no, I believe that The Rock would be a good fit for this flick. |

Well, I think he is multi-racial, actually. I know that his father is black (former Wrestler Rocky Johnson, if I'm not mistaken), and I think his mother was of some sort of Asian descent, so I believe that you might be right. At any rate, even if he IS half-Samoan, it could still work, because Atlantis is a long lost civilization, so there could have been MANY different cultures and colors that were living together. I'm not sure if they are going to be showing Atlanteans as being blue-skinned anyway. So it should be interesting how they (Atlanteans), are brought to life. |

I thought he was Hawian.
Anyway i don't think Rock's right for the role. Don't get me wrong i love Rock and yes he is a rather goos action star. And belive me it's not because of skin color. I couldn't care about that. I just think hes a lil to bulky.
