The first issue of Punisher: War Journal Volume 2 has sold out, but not in the same way as 1994s gangsterfied M.C. Hammer.

The reemergence of the unstoppable, gun toting badass amidst the Civil War thats been tearing the Marvel U to shreds has made fans very happy, so much so that its getting a second printing.

Apparently, writer Matt Fraction and illustrator Ariel Olivetti know how to do the justice bringer justice and the timing couldnt be more perfect.

He is the man. 'Nuff said!!!! By the way, who ever wins still loses.

PW Vol.2: Issue #1 sucked. Matt has the Punisher saying

"I'm bored... shooting this bad guy in the face will entertain me......

Entertain him???? The Punisher doesn't do this type of stuff to entertain him. The Punisher then fights a robot that looks like it came from the 1940's or 50's comic books. But before that happened Matt has the Punisher walking right up to it and saying

"Hey....Stilt-Man"..... yeah, the Punisher would just do that. A fight of course between the two happens. Matt also has the Punisher saying stuff like because of the Civil War it makes it really hard to keep people safe.... that everything he fought for would end there..... well the Punisher doesn't kill the bad guys to make the world a safer place. The Punisher knows that no matter how many bad guys he kills it doesn't make the world a safer place. Not even by 1%. "The Slavers" story shows that, a far more realistic take on the Punisher's work.
The little Iron Men beating up the Punisher up was not dumb as hell but a rip-off from Ennis's Marvel Knights Punisher issue #16-17. The so-called humor in it is not funny at all. It's idiotic.

Having the Punisher in his white gloves and boots crap doesn't make any sense at all. I mean the reason for the Punisher's outfit for being a tight spandex costume in the 1970's and 80's was a mistake. The reasons being that most characters back then were just drawn that way. But the Punisher is a military person. To combat crime a military person is going to... or more like needs to wear a military outfit. There's a reason why Frank wore that stuff in Vietnam. He also has the Punisher acting like Daredevil and Batman by having him jump over root tops.
Yeah, Matt Faction really understands the Punisher's character.

Punisher War Journal #1 suffers from a classic case of a good idea and poor execution.

Wow, good points. I wanted to get these journals, and I didn't know much about them. The first post sounded good, but now I don't know. You were kind of convincing.

I completely agree with almost all of your points about dialogue. But despite that, this issue was very entertaining. Keep in mind, I care about as much for Punisher as I do for Elongated Man, which is to say not much. But the parts of the book that tied into Civil War were great. Not as great as when those same scenes happened in Civil War #5, but then that artist is just amazing. Still, I liked the book.
