'Fountain of youth' for Hanks

December 6, 2002 — In order to simulate a much younger Tom Hanks for the movie Polar Express, filmmakers are employing computers to create a digital map of Hanks features, to re-create him as a 'virtual child' for the Christmas fairy tale.

Hanks is slated to star in the film, directed by Robert Zemeckis.
