WB is still in talks with the IMAX people about this, but it's another film that could get an IMAX release.

Having seen several IMAX films, and seen some that were re-released,(and how awesome they look) it definitely has some promotional value to the films now.

Stay tuned...

It looks like it will be released in IMAX format.

Anyone have one of those theaters near them?

Austin, Txas will be one of the lucky ones to get this film in IMAX:

Here's the information from a news snippet from Austin 360:

The IMAX Theatre at the Bob Bullock museum is getting maxed out with new state-of-the-art projection equipment that will allow it to show film of all lengths, not just the short ones. The theater will be one of a few in the world with two Quick-Turn Reel Units, which it will inaugurate Nov. 10 with screenings of 'The Polar Express: An IMAX 3-D Experience,' the computer-animated Christmas tale directed by Robert Zemeckis and starring Tom Hanks. It's the first Hollywood feature to be digitally remastered into 'an IMAX 3-D experience,' say the IMAX folks.

I just found out last night that a theater not too far from here is one of 4 that national amusements is equipping with IMAX tech in time for the release of the movie. We were thinking of going to see it for our family holiday show but didn't think it was showing anywhere in the state.
