Anticipation Level:
How excited (or not) I am to see this movie...
I just saw the movie on dvd, first time and it was beautiful in every sense of the word. It made me smile and it made me cry. I rate it as one of the best movies I have seen this year ..
Movie Review:
My thoughts on this movie...
The story was old but very well told, An Irish family looking for the American dream, the spin in this movie is the
Mateo twist, in the beginning I thought he was a psychotic monster who would molest Kristi or Ariel but it turned out so sweet it made me choke with emotion. Beautiful work. When he breathes his dying wish magically into the lungs of baby Mateo it just takes you away..
I found the accents quite light. I know Samantha Morton is American, Paddy has an Irish name but couldn't pick his accent, most notable in Sarah Bolger but then her and young Emma are sisters or cousins so I do believe they could well be Irish. I have already recommended the movie and shall continue to do so .
