October 1, 2002 — In an interview with The Miami Herald Anything Else star Jimmy Fallon spoke of his director and fellow co-star Woody Allen, "When he directs you, you don't know if you should laugh at him or listen to him."
Ever the impersonator, Fallon is capable of doing a perfect Woody ''Noo Yawk'' accent. He recalled, while imitating the filmmaker: 'I remember he hit his head on a lamp, and then he said, `Ah, I'm hitting my head on the, ah, light fixture.' And then he laughed and then he hit his head on the lamp again.''
Each day on set the poor Fallon had to ponder, "Are we supposed to laugh? Is he being serious?"
It probably IS a good idea to take Allen seriously...that's where a sense of humor comes in.
