"It's still Spawn. It's still Al Simmons. But there's no Jason, No Clown, No Hell. There's nothing. It's just about him now. At no time in my mind will you see Spawn in his full regalia, standing there in his cape and costume. I wan't to make the best movie possible. There's something about him being the Sentinel figure, lurking. Does he even exist? is he a frigment of our imagination? I want to bring that aspect of how he can scare people without actually having to do anything to them".
