It's pretty shocking that it has taken this long for a sequel to get a move on, but finally Columbia Pictures is gearing up for GHOST RIDER 2, the sequel to the smash-hit comic book adaptation from 2007 that saw Nicolas Cage as a stunt motorcyclist Johnny Blaze who gives up his soul to become a hellblazing vigilante, to fight against power hungry Blackheart, the son of the devil himself. What we learned this evening is that Columbia Pictures is officially out to writers to pen the sequel and that Nicolas Cage is in fact attached and signed on to return.

Hopefully.

The first besides the CGI was pretty blah. Very few parts I enjoyed. Dialogue, jokes, characters and villains (except the devil) were all Meh. The rider was too stiff. I really want to see what they can do here story and action wise. Maybe he goes to hell? Who knows. Hopefully it has a more serious feel to it unlike the first.

The plot of GR1 wasn't so great, but not [i]terrible[i].... it was tolerable
The main thing that was messed up about the first one was the villians.
They were cheesy, they were lame, and they really screwed up bad on Blackheart.

So basically what I am saying is that it seems like Johnson is at least somewhat capable of learning from past mistakes. I will try to be optimistic

It was a smash hit?

*goes to look at the numbers*

OK, I guess it did about 115-million, which means that it made more than it cost to make.

Well, I definitely Enjoyed moments of the first one; the sheer awfulness of it just made it Hilarious. So I guess the most I'll hope for out of the sequel is to be similarly entertained.

Now their only issue will be keeping Eva Mendes sober enough to finish the work.

What? The first one wasn't bad enough?
