When the terminator was turned bad in T3 he shut his whole system down. His system was messed with by the TX. his plan to save John was switched to kill John. So he shuts down and clears his system.

Well if he cleared his system wouldn't he also have cleared his mission to save John. Because his original objective is to kill humans (including john conner). but the humans caught the terminator and corrupted his system and make him protect john.

Why is it he only erased the TX's mission, but didn't erase the resistence mission (to protect john) if he was refreshing his corrupted system?

I think that was part of his upgrade, to clear only the systems that was corrupted by the T-X. Although it wasn't fully explained

i think that the program to protect john connor was a permanent program that couldnt be erased, even when he was rebooted. The T-X's program was probably a temporary programing, ment only to last til john was dead

I think he was a T-850 in T-2 as well-if you pause during the part where it shows Terminator vision when he has his access port open (they are taking the chip out) I think it said model T-850...someone check on that, eh?

in the novel it explains his upgrade, when they captured him they didnt use the same CPU, the reseistance had another chip which they made themselfs, so that was the terminators original objectives to protect connor and brewster, you must read the novel it explains so much

Would of been great if the T-850 stayed bad till the end. John and Kate would destroy both the T-850 and the T-X but it'd be a BIG handful.
