John Ottman has acquired a reputation as one of Hollywood's many jack-of-all-trades. You can say this multi-talented dude hopped on the map for his work on Brian Singer's The Usual Suspects; he served as that film's editor and composer (talk about being the ultimate controller of a movie's pace, huh?). A few years later he helmed the sequel Urban Legends: Final Cut, ahem, but it's probably his musical talents he should be recognized for. Halloween: H20, Lake Placid, Apt Pupil, X2: X-Men United, Eight Legged Freaks, for good or bad, all grace his resume.
Most recently, Ottman completed work on Dark Castle and Jaume Collet-Serra's House of Wax. With conductor Bruce Harvey, the score was recorded in Seattle over the course of three days in February. Varese Sarabande is releasing the score on May 10th. The label has handled distribution duties on past Dark Castle titles like House on Haunted Hill, Ghost Ship and Thir13en Ghosts.
