Sorry, One of the Stipulations of this messageboard is that E.T. was one of the greatest movies of our time.
Can't be argued.
As much as I'm sure you'd love to see a movie with more sex, violence, and (what the hell) rock and roll, the majority of us loved E.T. because it was warm, heartfelt, and well just great.
Now if you wish to argue about the 20th anniversary changes, you might have a discussion.
I felt that after viewing the movie the changes neither detracted nor added to the film. THerefor Not needed.
It was perfect before.
But I'm not going to complain any more.

Since when is 15 million considered bad? A lot of films would like to have that on opening weekend. Besides kids are out of school all this week for Easter. This is a great movie to take kids to. The movie is going to do a lot of box office this week.

I had a hard time figuring out why anyone could possibly hate this movie....it is so well done. I consider it the greatest movie of all time (some people consider Citezen Kane to be the best, but I disagree).

I have since figured out why people hate this movie. It's because the film is over their heads. They don't get it. People who don't know how, or are afraid to feel hate this movie. People who know NOTHING about art hate this movie. People who know NOTHING about film hate this movie. They don't understand it.
