Yes, Terrorism has beaten Entertainment in America.

I, just like most of you, have been glued to the TV set for the past month or so watching those horrible events unfold. Ever day, the mayor or president jumps on the tube and says "life must go on...do not let these events effect your lives...just move on with life and everything will be fine."

I believed that it was possible to for us as a nation to move on and not be completely effected by this whole situation. I was more than confident that out of anyone , the Entertainment industry would be the ones to give us a strong example of this.

I was completely and utterly wrong.

The Entertainment industry seems to have been the first to cave under these hard times.

First it started with the Emmys been rescheduled. I figured...hey, it's out of respect. So i was more than ok with that. Then a couple of movies like Spiderman and Collateral Damage were rescheduled. Ok...i'll let that go. But then i really noticed the change. Recently, my local GKC theaters were going to show Fight Club. I was very excited about this because it would be great to see that again on the big screen. Then I found out it was cancelled due to the fact that buildings blow up at the end. Now i'm hearing that they have to actually CHANGE a classic film, E.T., simply becasue they mention something about the word "terrorist." ?

THAT'S ALL?

So what, we can't ever show American people destruction again? I may be biased because i am an entertainer and a filmmaker, but why do we have to shut ourselves off? Is it really that offensive? Do you realiize, the terrorists have won in that aspect and we are changing the way we lived our lives. Now all we are doing is try to save the American people from seeing these images.

Well done terrorism. Well done. Now we can't even see certain movies in theaters nor see classic movies the way they originally were because of what you've done.

Mission accomplished.

The terrorist in ET, Spielberg never felt comfortable in the first place. He did not feel it had a place in the movie and felt the same way. All the changes began way before the terrorist attacks on 9/11. As the way the terrorist won, is a bull crap , the have not won. There is certain places for things, a time to kill, a time to laugh, a time to blow up the cowards "terrorist" . As for the movie like Collateral Damage, was way to early to show after what happened. A time to heal.

I think that scene would have been far better had they left the word "terrorist" in. It would have been far more effective today considering recent events. Either way, Michael was not dressed as a "terrorist" in my opinion, what the heck is a terrorist supposed to look like anyway?
