August 11, 2002 — According to the Hollywood Reporter, Larry Guterman (Cats & Dogs) has been chosen by New Line to direct 'Son of the Mask', the follow up to the 1994 smash hit. The follow-up, which neither stars Jim Carrey nor Cameron Diaz are expected to return for, focuses on Tim Avery, an aspiring cartoonist who is not ready for fatherhood but finds himself raising a baby endowed with the powers of the mask of Loki. Lance Khazei (Romantic Comedy) wrote the script.
