"And I'm playing Chess because of what now?" Shawnie asked Maxine. "Because, when Susan asked you if you wanted to let her read words out of the Dictionary and try to guess what languge it was, you said "No" "Yes, well I didn't think chess was this boring." Shawnie said resting her chin on her hands.
"I win. For the fourth time." Maxine said. "Oh come on!" Shawnie moaned. "Can we please stop with this game already?" She asked. "You know you're more than welcome to join our game Shawnie." Susan said to her. "Yes, go on and play their game." Maxine said. Shawnie had no trouble saying yes to her new friends.
Shawine sat in the chair across from Peter. Then Shawnie saw Bella and Lucy staring out thewindow. "Gastrovascular." Susan said. Shawnie knew she'd heard the word before in class. Then she knew it was Latin. "Do you know?" Susan asked her. "No I don't." Shawnie lied. "Peter?" She asked him. "Is it Latin?" He asked. "Yes." "Is it Latin for "Worst game ever invented?" Edmund asked them. Shawnie smriked at the comment.
"Can we play hide and seek?" Lucy asked Peter. "Yes, can we?" Bella asked sitcking her bottom lip out. "Games are for babies." Shawnie said. "Shawn, you don't have to play." Tucker said after looking up from the chess game Maxine and him were on. "Please...pertty please." Bella and Lucy beged. "1..." Peter began. And the seven children ran out of thee room.
"I was here first." Shawnie said pushing Bella down. She didn't really mean to push her, she just wanted the hiding place. It was only small cupboard with a long piece of fabric in the front. Shawnie hid there.
"Go away Bella! Peter's going to find us!" Shawnie said. Bella ran into her place. "Shawnie!Lucy and I are back! We're fine!" Bella said, she was clearly out of breath. Peter found them both. "Do the four of you get this game at all?" Peter said. Lucy and Edmund stood there to. "She ran to you to?" Shawine asked him. "Yes she did." He replied. Figures, Shawnie thought. Maxine, Tucker, and Susan walked up to the five kids. "Do any of us win?" Susan asked. "I'm not sure if Bella and Lucy want to play this game anymore."
"There! Go see for yourselves!" Bella said, opening a wardrobe. This is so stupid, Shawnie thought. "Please you two one game at a time." Peter said. "But haven't you been wondering we we've been?" Lucy asked. "Yes, that is the point of the game Lucy." Shawnie said. "And Bella." At that point Bella had tears streeming down her cheeks. "We went into the wrdrobe and into a magical land!" She shouted. At that point Tucker glared at Shawnie."Shawnie she's only nine!" He said. Shawnie hated when he talked down to her, it mostly made her feel younger(And she was onlt thirteen.) "Shut up! You are NOT my father!" She shouted. And then she stormed out of the room.
