There are quite wide spread nominations. The good news for Narnia is that it is not competeing up against this years front runners like Brokeback Mountain or Crash. I think it has a good chance in Make-up, although each of the films nominated in that category have quite prominent and different make-up effects. Lemony Snicket won last year, so they do sometimes go for the more kiddie friendly films. Sound mixing is an interesting one. I'd be tempted to say that either War of the Worlds or King Kong pose the biggest threats to Narnia there. A visual effects nod was a surprise to me. What witha year with King Kong, Batman Begins, Star Wars and Harry Potter, and knowing there would only be three nominations, I didn't think it stood a chance. So I was pleased to see it recognised, but am doubtful that it will actually win. I'd like to see either it, or War of the Worlds win. (Basically anything to stop the over hyped Kong winning!)
