I thought it was much better than "LotR." I am not clear on my comparison to "Monte Christo." It was a spectacular movie. I haven't read the book, but, since it apparently didn't follow it to closely, that didn't matter. I was a little worried after reading the NY Times review, but that guy was all wrong. Orlando, Guy, and Jeremy were all magnificent, I can't pick a favorite. It is either the first or second best film I have seen this season. [/SPOILER] And regarding another point about the ending: [SPOILER] when Alexander set the time machine below to get all the Morlocks...I didn't realize he'd set it to send them all to the future. I didn't quite understand why it affected the Morlocks outside of the sphere of the machine. [/SPOILER] Wish I could be more help on that one...I have some unanswered questions myself.
