The Sun News has a terrific interview / article up with Johnny Depp talking about his projects of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Pirates of the Carribean 2 and 3!

....I was definitely a Gene Wilder fan, but that's not what dragged me in. I must say that initially, as much as I love Roald Dahl's works, the material was one of the seductive elements. But, more than anything, it was the fact that it was Tim Burton asking me to do it. He was really the first and foremost diamond. I knew that as soon as he mentioned it and as soon as I said that I was in, I knew there were going to be great risks involved because we could very easily blow it. But, again, that's very exciting for an actor. It's a challenge.
