Director Tim Burton's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, starring Johnny Depp, was the No. 1 DVD seller as well as renter during its first week in stores, says The Hollywood Reporter.

The film, which grossed $206.1 million at the domestic box office, bumped Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith from the top spot on VideoScan's First Alert sales chart for the week ending November 13.

the video store i work at got 25 copies..not crazy amount...thought more would have been better...not once has all copies been out, i guess everyone saw it in cinemas..most copies are in of star wars, 2 weeks later


as for The Island, we were getting 21 copies but i changed it to 30 (i do orders) and all copies have been out for a week, every second person asks if its behind the counter and every 3rd person books it for some other day



note to americans...reserve it for the day it is release in america...thats if u actually want to rent it on dvd first week.



infact i noticed that the film floped in america ($30 million) and did like $160 worldwide meaning it did like 80% of its earnings overseas...pretty unusual i musy say...and the film made heep in south korea. made more in south korea then return of the kings made in south korea
