'Batman Beyond' Too Expensive to Make

October 11, 2001 — 'Batman Beyond' will not happen. Who knows? The pretty much guaranteed success of 'Spider-Man' might change WB's mind (at least, this editor hopes so):

"Batman Beyond" was apparently too expensive due to the futuristic environments that would have had to be created, our source claims, and Warner Bros. dumped the film in the trash. Sorry director Boaz Yakin and screenwriters Paul Dini and Alan Burnett."
