just read in show biz magazine that there will be a batman movie slated for a 2008/2009 release. Based upon batman beyond its in pre production, little is know about the cast, Clint Eastwood just signed on As Older Bruce Wayne.

This is frankly the best news for this movie.

I hoping for A Shriek movie, but we'll have to wait and see.

Cast Notes: There have been various rumors over the past few years about young actors (Ben Affleck, Brad Pitt, etc.) but they've all been shot down as speculation. Batman in Batman Beyond is a high schooler, so expect someone quite young. Clint Eastwood and Jake Gyllenhaal has been confirmed.

Director: Boaz Yakin/Sam Raimi (Remember the Titans, Fresh Spiderman,Superman)

Screenwriter: Paul Dini and Alan Burnett (cowriters of Batman Beyond: The Movie and Batman: The Mask of the Phantasm)

Based Upon: This movie will, of course, be based upon the popular animated TV series about a futuristic young Batman. There have already been two feature-length animated movies (the pilot and Batman Beyond: The Return of the Joker), but this movie will be live-action.

Premise: There are no known details about the plot of this movie yet, but it will have something to do with a future Gotham City where the aged (and cranky) Bruce Wayne trains young Terry McGinnis to be the new Batman. There's no cape (replaced by red wings), and he's limber and athletic rather than bulky and scary (imagine Spider-Man sporting a red-and-black Batman suit). Gotham City has changed a lot, but the villains often still hark back to an earlier time (there's a band of hoods called the Jokers) and some old familiar faces are still around too. All this is just what the TV show is about; the movie will have its own story, but what is just unknown now.

Filming: There has been a green light expect filming to start in October of 2007.

Genre: Action, Crime,Science Fiction, Teen

Thats cool news. Im guessing Jake Gyllenhaal will be Terry. I have reservations about Clint Eastwood as Bruce, but he'll definately be old enough. He might win me over.

The bad guy has to be Blight. Hes the main guy from Batman of the Future, like Joker is from the normal Batman. It would make sense.

Dude..... Clint Eastwood is perfect and so is Jake Gylenhaal. That's awesome news, for sure.

Yeah, the villain will probably be Blight but it will show the genesis of the new Batman so the joker gang will have to be in there somewhere.

I, personally, would like to see Inque...

There are times when I feel guilty...the question is, do I feel guilty enough to change?

The Joker gang will be easy to fit into it. Theyre basically the criminal body of Gotham.

Yeah Inque would be cool, but for a first movie of a Future series (if they ever made any more), then Blight deserves to be the first bad guy.

first of all.... props to Gyllenhaal and Eastwood... but i highly highly doubt that this movie will come out in 2008. Don't they have to make all the ones for the new trilogy before they make the future Batman series in movies?

A. lets hope "Dirty Harry" will still be alive by 2OO8

B. Jake as terry.. doubtful.. think about it terry was still in high school when he became batman. Need a unknown for that

C. Joker gang, blight and inque (hope shes that ink girl) are perfect for the movie

D. Batman Begins never made it pass season 1 (i think)

All in all batman begins is a BIG GAMBLE
