Perhaps it may just be me, but does it not seem like Larry Carroll purposely attempts to create some sort of turmoil out of his reviews, mainstream movies most often get downplayed [MIB II, Fast and Furious for example], while smaller movies that probably no one will pay much attention too [Hey Arnold!] gets glowing reviews. Then there are movies such as Undercover Brother wish gets the seal of approval with a B+. Like I said, it could be me, but I see a trend going here. The consensus says it's black, Larry Carroll says it's white. Why? Oh, just to be different.

| Larry may favor some of these little known films, but with due justice. An unimaginative rehashing of a movie only to sell sound tracks and toys deserves a bad review. We can see this also by the rush to have it released to video in time for the holidays only months after its release. MIB2 should never have been made. As far as his opinions on TFATF, I can see his points but thought it was an ENTERTAINING movie, much like gone in 60 seconds. fast cars, woman, a little action to keep people into the movie and a highly unlikely story of people who waste money to make their cars look stupid. at least the after market car industry benefeited from this and it gives me a chuckel when i see some kid driving around in a $500 car with $4000 worth of spoilers, ground affects and rims on it. But Larry, continue with your good reviews. You continue to open the eyes of people to movies they might never hear of, never the less see, as well as provide informative aspects and parallelism to other classics (Citizen Cane, I remember when that was on television one night in 1996 without commercials, just as wells would have liked it). I look forward to reading more of your articles as well as watching some of the interviews. Great job with Mr. Sandler, the lines were a nice touch. MTSND, KTBFTR |
