September 10, 2009 — Jay Fernandez and Borys Kit report: "Former UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton Rampage Jackson has nabbed the role of B.A. Baracus in Fox's A-Team movie, stepping into the role originated by Mr. T.
Jackson joins Liam Neeson and Bradley Cooper in the big-screen adaptation, which is being directed by Joe Carnahan and produced by Ridley and Tony Scott.
The role of Baracus was one of the hardest to cast, as out of the all the characters from the special forces team forced to on the lam, it carries the most iconic qualities. The character was a highly skilled but ill-tempered mechanic who preferred milk over alcohol, loved to fight but was afraid to fly, and spouted catchphrases. The role made Mr. T into a household name. |
