April 26, 2001 — VFXPro sat down with Mill
Film to talk about their work with the special effects on the new
film "A Knight's Tale."
Mill Film
completed 50 shots for Columbia TriStar's "A Knight's Tale," directed
by Brian Helgeland. With sites in Soho and at Shepperton Studios,
Mill Film completed digital effects, miniature construction and
photography and motion control shots for the picture. The film, which
will be released in the U.S. on May 11, is set in medieval Europe and
tells the tale of a peasant squire (Heath Ledger) with a gift for
jousting. The peasant takes up the identity of his master when the
knight suffers an untimely death, and he sets out to prove himself as
a knight.
