Russell Crowe doesn't need to hear more people sucking up to him. He KNOWS that he is an outstanding actor and that he does a great job. Why? Because he knows who he is and what he expects from himself. He doesnt need anyone to remind him of it. If you know what you are doing and you are satisfied with the work that you have done (and are presently doing), who cares what others think. To hell with criticism, even if it is constructive! If nobody said anything they would soon feel insecure, they need positive response to what they do, no matter how famous and gifted they are. Actually I think appreciation and applause are two very important factors in an artist's life, also for Russell Crowe. I do not at all think that he is so blasi that he doesn't like praise and admiration. The people speak and let him know that he is a great actor when the proof is in the awards that he receives. In the statement that I made earlyer I might of not phrased it well enough for others to understand......in a plane and simple term, the man doesn't need any ass kissing going on. Now that he is famous, he gets plenty of that. There is no need to constantly be reading about it.....it can give you cavities. Focusing on Russell, when the media chooses to speak or write about him, it always tends to be at first very, very negative; then the man wins an oscar which was long time deserved and suddenly, the media is his new best friend and so are much of the hypocritical "fans" out their who probably never heard of him before that. The fact is, that not only happens with Russell but with many other celebrities also. I guess that is the price that you pay when you choose to live your life in front of the world... it comes with the career. Anyways, don't think that I am always negative about things but I think that this is just a waste of time. Nobody ever really posts a message with the intent for "just" the fans to read. I think that in our hearts we really want the people who we are writing about to read them also. Lets face it...that will never happen. They don't have the time that we do to sit down and read about themselves and respond to other's opinions. There might be as little as a 1% that while you are writing, hopefully the person whom you are writing about will read the post. If you just want to really talk about a celebrity without them reading it, just because you want your moment to be a critic, you just might as well go in a chat room or instant message anybody, if that was really the case. Even if it was just a comment, did they get a chance to say Thank You? You say that they got to read a couple of good questions, but what about the bad ones? i.e. "boxers or briefs?"
