| How excited (or not) I am to see this movie... |

The movie was great. You might here a lot of people moan and groan about some characters not having enough screen time but let me tell you that Singer does one of the best jobs of balancing just the right amount for everyone. He's got a lot of characters to work with and only so much time.
Jackman jumps right back into his role as Wolverine and does a great job of keeping that anger and fury of ole' Wolvie. Singer also does a great job of keeping the tension and smart remarks between Cyke and Wolvie whenever they're around each other as well.
Aaron Stanford (Pyro) is awesome. He as only a little screen time but is able to convey the anger he feels so well just through his facial expressions. Just a minor example: [SPOILER] When he is at Bobby's house and looking at the family pictures. The jealousy and sadness you can see in his eyes looking at the picture of the "happy family photo." [/SPOILER] That part is so minor but you get a real idea of what his character feels. Stanford did an awesome job.
Brian Cox also played his part as Stryker insanely well. Stryker is evil, ruthless, arrogant, and I love him.
This movie gets away with so much for being PG-13. Singer does such a great job in leaving much to the imagination. [SPOILER] Wolverine going off in the mansion. Pyro torching the police, which BTW I think they could left out the part where the cop who shot Wolverine peers over the bushes with only soot on his face. I could have done without that, they should have died. Magneto pulling Iron out of a guard's blood, WHOA. Magneto pulling the grenade clips out on about 15 of Stryker's stormtroopers, again WHOA. Plus I almost forgot. One of the best fight scenes I have ever seen. If you thought the fight scene with Logan and Sabertooth was brutal wait till you see ole Wolvie and Deathstryke, MY GOD!!! It is awesome. [/SPOILER]
Again Singer does a great job and I only hope he stays with this franchise. Great actors, great characters, great script, but it takes a great director to bring it all together and make it work. |
