June 18, 2002 — In an interview with The Uncool Site, Cameron Crowe talked a bit about Minority Report, "Yeah, I cant believe its [the cameo] still in the film. After Spielbergs cameo in Vanilla Sky, he said Now you have to return the favor. Im a very bad actor, but they called me to come down on the set of Minority Report and the put me on the subway. Behind me is Cameron Diaz, though shes sort of obscured. Tom Cruise and Cameron both gave me acting tips. which I forgot instantly. Spielberg did a couple of little rehearsals. Im supposed to recognize Cruises character from a moving-image in a USA Today from the future. So Spielberg says Action and I look up over this blank newspaper that will be filled up with special effect images later and Cruise is giving me this look that is so vicious and brutal and hateful I instantly just kind of looked away and Spielberg goes, OK, moving on, weve got it! [Laughs] I just saw the movie yesterday. Its one of Spielbergs very best. Not even my performance could hold him back."
