1. The holes in the plot are THIS BIG.
2. Tom Cruise looked great (like he had been really working out) but there wasn't much done with him.
3. The film relied too heavily on special effects (special effects are good but it shouldn't be 90% of the movie).

Please explain these "plot holes" that you have reffered to.

He is obviously a goober troll. Minority rocked start to finish. Saw it, loved it, seeing it again, buying the DVD.

On a rare note: The critics at large and I agreeed. The movie was great. How unusual.

Frankly, Minority Report is the best movie I have seen since Braveheart. I don't know what holes this person is talking about, I left without a single question unanswered, and I plan to see it a couple more times and I encourage ever one who hasn't seen it to do so at the first available moment.

You want plot holes well here we go buckle up.

The pre-cogs have nightmares and see future crime so what is putting them in a cabin going to do except isolate them again as they go insane. At least in the Temple they were drugged.

Why did Toms retina code still function days after he was outlawed, they used it twice to enter secure facitilties.

Why is there a door direclty into the Temple from outside.

How come there is only one guard in a giant prison filled with murderers.

How do Toms old eyes survive unchanged in a baggie not refrigerated for days.

Why do his old eyes roll like marbles on crack when they have the optic nerve still stuck to them.

Why with a huge budget is it easy to see the giant square block that holds the squib in the Feds shirt, that goes off when he is shot by Max. This was so obvious that my wife thought it was a plot twist and he was wearing a vest of some kind.

Why does the Fed instantly go from hating Tom to loving him in an instant just because the evidence may point to his innocence when before there was little evidence of his guilt but he appeared to hate him.

It is 2002 and you are telling me by 2054 we will have massive vertical highways! They should have set the movie around 2094.

How come he was not blind in one eye after he took of his bandage and had a bright light shown in his new eye.

The assembly line scene was ripped from AOTC, it even went as far as to almost trap his arm just like Anakins was.

Why did the Pre-Cops simply leave the girl alone at the lake after they stopped the first killer.

When Tom was riding on the back of the guy with the jet pack the exhaust burned everything in site but him and he was directly on the pack!

Why did the doctor who hated him do such a good job on his eyes when he did not even pay him that much money.

I did not buy the super duper eye replacement helmet. Plus they never showed it working.

Don't get me wrong I did not hate this movie it was good fun but just too many holes to make it anymore than a summer popcorn flick.

Out......................

Hey, guys, if you haven't seen the flick. I highly reccomend it. It was really awesome, and I know everyone will enjoy it. On behalf of all you guys that saw no plot holes, I will answer these pointless questions. Here we go ...
Well, I don't know about anyone else, but FREEDOM is always high on my list.
Well, his badge and gun were never stripped from him, so in essence he was still a cop. If he's still a cop, he should still have access.
Why is there a door direclty into the Temple from outside.
There was a door directly to the temple from outside?
How come there is only one guard in a giant prison filled with murderers.
Because the prison is so advanced, that is the only amount of guards they need.
How do Toms old eyes survive unchanged in a baggie not refrigerated for days.
It's the future, I'm sure they have baggies that hold in air and keep it at a certain temperature.
Why do his old eyes roll like marbles on crack when they have the optic nerve still stuck to them.
It seems to me like they'd still be able to. I mean, did you even look at the optic nerve, it's not that big.
Why with a huge budget is it easy to see the giant square block that holds the squib in the Feds shirt, that goes off when he is shot by Max. This was so obvious that my wife thought it was a plot twist and he was wearing a vest of some kind.
I really have no idea what you're talking about.
Why does the Fed instantly go from hating Tom to loving him in an instant just because the evidence may point to his innocence when before there was little evidence of his guilt but he appeared to hate him.
I don't know, how is that a plot hole?
It is 2002 and you are telling me by 2054 we will have massive vertical highways! They should have set the movie around 2094.
Sure, in the past ten years we've had the internet, laptops, dvd players, cable modem, cellular phones. Seems extremely possible to me.
How come he was not blind in one eye after he took of his bandage and had a bright light shown in his new eye.
Actually, HE WAS!!! That was one of the coolest things I saw throughout the film. If you look closely, the eye he went blind in, it doesn't move with his other eye through the rest of the film. You must have not been paying attention.
The assembly line scene was ripped from AOTC, it even went as far as to almost trap his arm just like Anakins was.
I noticed that too, but how is that a plot hole.
Why did the Pre-Cops simply leave the girl alone at the lake after they stopped the first killer.
What did you want them to do with her, give her a medal?
When Tom was riding on the back of the guy with the jet pack the exhaust burned everything in site but him and he was directly on the pack!
He was ON the jet pack, not UNDER it.
Why did the doctor who hated him do such a good job on his eyes when he did not even pay him that much money.
It didn't seem like the guy hated him to me.
I did not buy the super duper eye replacement helmet. Plus they never showed it working.
Who cares if you bought it or not. That's not a plot hole.

Okay, it seems to me like a lot of those aren't even plot holes. But I answered them as best as I could.

SEE THIS MOVIE!!!

like all senses, the precogs psychic ability works only at a cetrain distance. if they are isolated then the only murders they will see are their own. and i don't think that's going to happen. in this situation the psychic visions stop, or at least become less intense.

Why did Toms retina code still function days after he was outlawed, they used it twice to enter secure facitilties.

the retina code was used as a tracking device. when john anderton's eyes were scanned, they knew where he was. it's important that they kept him active. plus the precrime team has never had an outlaw before. six years of easy arrests make for mistakes in the police officer's procedure. thats why john got away in the jetpack flight as well.

Why is there a door direclty into the Temple from outside.

you've never heard of a fire exit[instert question mark here, my shift key is broken.]

How come there is only one guard in a giant prison filled with murderers.

when the murderers have been restrained with devices that put them into a catatonic state...i don't think the risk is high. besides...they aren't murderers. they would have been.

How do Toms old eyes survive unchanged in a baggie not refrigerated for days.

have you ever tried to keep eyeballs in a baggie for days. i haven't. i don't know how long they'd last.

Why with a huge budget is it easy to see the giant square block that holds the squib in the Feds shirt, that goes off when he is shot by Max. This was so obvious that my wife thought it was a plot twist and he was wearing a vest of some kind.

i didn't see the squib and i've seen the movie twice. but that would be a blooper. and every movie has bloopers. i'm sorry that you're amazing eyes detracted from your viewing pleasure.

Why does the Fed instantly go from hating Tom to loving him in an instant just because the evidence may point to his innocence when before there was little evidence of his guilt but he appeared to hate him.

he never liked him. love him...i don't think so. realize his innocence...yes. even if he doesn't like him. he still has to do his job and report his innocence.

It is 2002 and you are telling me by 2054 we will have massive vertical highways! They should have set the movie around 2094.

a wise man once gave me some great advice that i think may benefit you in this situation. shut up and watch the movie.
don't sweat the small stuff. the big ideas make minority report more than just a summer 'popcorn' flick.

How come he was not blind in one eye after he took of his bandage and had a bright light shown in his new eye.

i didn't notice the blindness in one eye. i'll have to go see it again. its probably subtle. i wouldn't want him to just scream out...my eye is blind.

The assembly line scene was ripped from AOTC, it even went as far as to almost trap his arm just like Anakins was.

the minority report script has been around longer than the attack of the clones script. if anything star wars stole it. its best not to compare scense or movies.

Why did the Pre-Cops simply leave the girl alone at the lake after they stopped the first killer.

the one cop checked to see if she was ok. and she was. so they left with the murderer. they didn't need to bring here.

When Tom was riding on the back of the guy with the jet pack the exhaust burned everything in site but him and he was directly on the pack!

on the pack...not on the exhaust.

Why did the doctor who hated him do such a good job on his eyes when he did not even pay him that much money.

a jobs a job. besides...the satisfaction that anderton was a fugitive now was enough to make the doc smile.

I did not buy the super duper eye replacement helmet. Plus they never showed it working.

i'm sorry that you didn't get to see the doctor pull the eyeballs out of tom cruise's head. but i'm glad that i didn't have to.

like i said earlier.
the plot holes that you've mentioned don't detract from the big story and the ideas behind them.
a great movie...doesn't need to be perfect.
its much more than 'just a fun popcorn movie'.

I saw Minority Report this weekend and I liked it. No plot holes at all. Not even complicated! Excellent movie, from start to finish. Much better than the hyped up movies nowadays, in the least.

Great Movie. One Plot hole

How did Max Von Sydow set up a chain of events for John Anderton to kill that guy. It was a set up.

he knew about the 'minority reports' inside of agatha. he knew that the only civilian with the capability and connection to anderton that could download the minority report. he found an apartment near the hacker that anderton would eventually find. gave the guy the 'orgy of evidence', knowing that anderton has always wanted to kill the man who abducted his son.
that is how he set him up.

If you've seen the movie, the doctor actually said going to jail was the best thing had ever to him. As the plot holes, whatever. Almost ever movie has plot holes. It's a masterpiece, can't wait to the dvd.

GREAT MOVIE!!!

I was going to go through all the quips but they've almost all been answered with what I would say anyway.

I am going to point out that MOST of that technology is very plausible 50 years from now. If anything the computers were limited compared to what they could be in that time. I can't believe what's happened in the last 20 years. Everything from the newspapers to the spider-robots are in the works. In fact, the verticle highways are far more likely than the "flying cars" we continually see on other movies.

On top of that I think the effects were seemless. At no point was I sitting there going.... ah yes, and here's another "Star-Wars" all CGI scene. I think reality and effects blended VERY well in this picture.

As has been said: SEE THIS MOVIE!!!

There's only ONE scene that looked too CGI aside from the highway, and that's the Halo'd criminals in that guy's room.

Why do people take a kick ass film and try to find something bad about it. The movie kicked some major ass. It was a hell alot better than most films today.

Remember Lucas and Spielbrug are good friends so maybe they that it would be funny to have the assembly line in both films.

hey hey hey now
Some of us liked A.I. I thought it was a good effort on Spielberg.

One hole from 'Report' is there was not enough Colin Farrell scenes. I thought he was really good in here.

I just saw Minority Report and thought it was awesome. One question, did they reveal what happened to Anderton's son cos i was distracted. I thought the Precog explained who took him or something.

I just got to see I love this movie, and i went to go see it twice, and my dad love it too, and he hates sci-fi movies, lol! and to answer one of someone's early mention of plot holes! why did that doctor like the dude that sent him to prison and didn't get his revenge on him. Simple as someone has already said, he said going to jail was the best thing that ever happen to him.

And as for his revenge oh he got his revenge alright. He knew the tom cruise would be blind, so thats why he had that old nasty as sandwhich, and pisty old milk! Cause he knew he oculdn't tell if it was old since he was blind. Man i was tripping off of that scene!

I just hope like most movie directors get greddy and try to make a sequel to this movie. Wh make a sequel, it would only ruin! Minority Report is one of them movies that need or shouldn't have sequel, i mean what is M.R. 2 going to be about everything is solve and done nothing more to work with except it was a awesome movie. Does anyone know what I mean!
