it is ahead of X-men, at the same point.

X-men had $82,994,152 after 8 days
Hulk had $87,440,380 after 8 days
FF has est $83,962,000 after 8 days

the real question is what kind of staying power does it have?

wow such optimism. you should be a motivational speaker.

so the movie took only $6.5M friday. so waht?

its another hulk? im sorry for asking such a dumb question but did the hulk movie lose money box office-wise or in any other way?

F4 is already performing better then expected, it will turn a profit, the movie was nice, i don't understand all this negativity.

aside punisher and elektra, no marvel movie showed a loss (unless u count howard the duck.lol)

and technicaly punisher didn't lose money domesticaly it broke even.

so why am i hearing all this negativity.

the movie is doing awsome. it will break the $100M mark, it will already bring profit for the movie by the end of this weekend (including international numbers). so what the hell?

keep things on the optimistic side.
its like you guys want it to fail.

It is following the trends of the first X-Men and Dare-Devil

X-Men -

$7,144,093
+64.7% / -65.6%
$82,994,152 / 8

DareDevil-

$5,401,164
+183.6% / -64.7%
$56,780,713 / 8

Fantastic Four-

Est. $6,550,000
+42.2% / -69.2%
$83,962,000 / 8

This is only an estimate as well so it could be wrong. Last week they said 20 million opening day and it grossed 21 million

The Hulk fell almost 76.5% this is in now way another Hulk. The Hulk sucked this movie in my opinion is one of the best Marvel movies ever. I do not understand what all the fuss is about. It was only expected to make 30 million opening weekend it made 26 million more. It was way ahead of expectations.

Well blah. I won't panic. I hope it'll still be well enough to make another one cuz I certainly loved this movie. I mean, I enjoyed it even more than Batman Begins and that one is supposedly so brilliantly made (which I don't agree with).

yeah i think u r right.

oh and whoever posted the 75% drop of the hulk, that is actualy extremely false.

it had a 68% drop.

still managed to cross the $100M in roughly 9-10 days. not bad for a movie that according to you sucked?

the movie rocked, the sequel will happen for both the hulk and F4 and hopefully people who just spread negativity like you won't hit the theatres to see these movies cause at least you will have the chance of not being a hypocrite on top of arrogant-know-it-alls.

And considering how crowded the marketplace is now, I am pretty impressed it soared to $100 million so fast. It should finish with over $150 million here in the US and another $125 internationally.

I posted the 76% drop and I was only talking for the Friday gross only. The Hulk fell 70% it's second weekend. Personally I did not like the Hulk as much as I would have liked. It was still a fairly good movie but not the best. I expected a little more I suppose. Being a fan of the comics I was really looking foreward to that movie especially. F4 though is brilliant. I don't know what people are talking about. As I said before I think it is better then both the X-Men movies and Spider-Man movies. This movie is my favorate marvel movie to date.

oh ok. u meant only friday. my bad.

but over all it fell like 68% ot 69%. which is a lot.

i think the reason it dropped is cause most people expected it to be an action oriented movie rather then a monster movie.

and maybe the exact events werent the same as the comics, but the spirit and the general idea was exactly the same.

the hulk is about rage and anger and how to deal with it. this movie explained it brilliantly. but yes i do understand why most people were disappointed with it.

but the movie didnt flop. it didnt lose money at all. it made a serious amount of profit and the hulk game was good enough to make a sequel out of. the movie will have a sequel and the hulk franchise will be on the map when its more action oriented. so im not worried

F4 was good, but so far the best comic book adaptation from Marvel is X2 tied wtih spiderman 2. X-films will always get more credit from me cause they are much harder to do then a 1-hero movie

based on what I have been able to find. No Comic based movie has had a sequal, without grossing 96% over production and marketing cost.

naturally I may have over looked something. but it is a good guide line.

well it did post more profits then DD, punisher and so far F4 (it might change though).

it cost $137M and the movie made $250M. thats a very decent profit. it nearly doubled.

punisher gets a sequel, DD got a sequel (sorta) with elektra, and the 96% mark is a bit off. there are a lot of variables. the hulk's weakest performance was the boxoffice inwhich it nearly doubled its cost. the hulk overall produced $1 Billion in revenue approx from the game, toys, dvd sales and other merchendises. so the hulk movie didnt flop in any category.

so far as far as im concerned, the Hulk is the first Serious Marvel movie which isn't under the category of "superhero" and actualy tries to be psycological. its an obvious gamble, but thats why i loved the hulk movie and the character. so i am not disappointed at all. the sequel will be done and thats all i personaly want.

Considering X-men was THE movie to bring comic book movies back into the game again I don't think its fair to compare this car wreck to X1... try X2 people. I knew this movie would bring in some money because it is a ocmic movie and they are "it" as of late but after seeing it once you can tell its just one of those movies that gonna go away soon. Its not a Hulk but its NOT an X-men or Spiderman... its going to slump badly go straight to DVD and be remembered as one of Jessica Albas worst acting performances ever. As for one of the best marvel movies ever... how can you even justify that? It's never going to be that great it doesnt even deserve a sequel.

i guess its a matter of opinion. most people liked the movie and the box office is there.

it will get a sequel. and hopefully it will surpass this one.

suppose it tumbles fast, better then be on top and fall then never be on top at all.

such movies as elektra and punisher never were on top, yet overall, they havent even lost any money.

its definately not catwoman. no marvel made movie is anywhere close to catwoman.

all the batman movies made over $100M but i would rather see catwoman then see batman and robin or batman forever.

all the marvel movies are way better then pretty much anything DC movies have produced, (superman 1, 2 and batman begins not included)

the flash B movie was garbage, super-girl, catwoman, batman 3,4, superman 3,4 are all junk.

these movies which are the blade franchise, X-films, spiderman movies, The Hulk, punisher & elektra and F4 are all gold compared to the DC movies.

Chris Reeves and the first bruce wayne (forgot the actor's name) are the only reason DC has made any kind of movie to date.

so if batman 3,4 and superman 3,4 were made, there is no valid reason at all not to make F4-2, Hulk 2 and punisher 2 among all the others.

Actually (per Box Office Mojo) Hulk production cost was $137,000,000.00 and Marketing cost was $35,000,000.00

that brings its cost up to $172,000,000.00
it made $245,284,946.00 World wide.
$73mil is 43% of $172mil

wow such optimism. you should be a motivational speaker.

so the movie took only $6.5M friday. so waht?

its another hulk? im sorry for asking such a dumb question but did the hulk movie lose money box office-wise or in any other way?

Hulk Grossed 43% more than production and marketing cost.

based on what I have been able to find. No Comic based movie has had a sequal, without grossing 96% over production and marketing cost.

naturally I may have over looked something. but it is a good guide line.

Fear not, I think FF still has some wind in its sails!!!

well it did post more profits then DD, punisher and so far F4 (it might change though).

it cost $137M and the movie made $250M. thats a very decent profit. it nearly doubled.

punisher gets a sequel, DD got a sequel (sorta) with elektra, and the 96% mark is a bit off. there are a lot of variables. the hulk's weakest performance was the boxoffice inwhich it nearly doubled its cost. the hulk overall produced $1 Billion in revenue approx from the game, toys, dvd sales and other merchendises. so the hulk movie didnt flop in any category.

so far as far as im concerned, the Hulk is the first Serious Marvel movie which isn't under the category of "superhero" and actualy tries to be psycological. its an obvious gamble, but thats why i loved the hulk movie and the character. so i am not disappointed at all. the sequel will be done and thats all i personaly want.

Actually (per Box Office Mojo) Hulk production cost was $137,000,000.00 and Marketing cost was $35,000,000.00

that brings its cost up to $172,000,000.00
it made $245,284,946.00 World wide.
$73mil is 43% of $172mil

Based on Box Office Mojo's information

and? according to the vast majority of opinion saying the hulk movie sucked, the movie turned profit.

the hulk sold 6 million dvd's. i forget if its in the first day or the first week, but even if its a week, 6M * $25 = $150M just in first week dvd sales. the game showed such awsome sales that a sequel is coming out.

so either way u look at it, the movie posted profit in every category.

which brings me back to my orginal point.......... the hulk movie and merchendising didn't fail at all. every aspect of the movie showed profit. it simply underperformed.

the movie was awsome, the movie took risks, the movie wasn't a superhero movie and it had incredible CGI. the best human cgi in the buisness.

there is nothing at all disappointing about the movie. so it had a huge drop off in the 2nd weekend. big deal.

profit is profit. they took major risks and still more then made money. so i dont see any kind of a reason to undervalue the movie.

Watch something in the way it was created. never assume a remade version is better if u havent seen the original

Bruce Banner:"You found me"
Betty Ross: "You werent hard to find"
Bruce Banner: "Yes I was"

The coolest line in an incredible movie

Green Mean SMASHING Machine!
I am a Hulk Legioner forever!

Keep in mind that when a movie like a comic property or Star Wars or Harry Potter comes out and has a huge opening week it is because all the fans are rushing out to see it right away. That doesn't leave too many people to see it the second week or third week, hence the huge drop off.

Critics see this as proof the film was no good, but it is incorrect. With a crowded movie schedule, is there really time to see a movie multiple times before the next blockbuster hits theaters? No, except for the super die-hards. Look at all of the summer's blockbusters...Star Wars, War of the Worlds, Batman, Fantastic Four, they all had huge drop offs the second and third week. Only Star Wars held a bit of it's audience because other studios gave it a bit of room and it is the last of it's saga.

Hulk had an insane opening week so it naturally had a huge drop off the second week.
