I just returned from seeing it, and overall I would say it was okay . Some parts were really funny, but others were a little corny. I was a little disappointed that there wasn't more action. It seemed a little short. And the music was a little disappointing as well. It seemed a little awkward at some parts.

I still enjoyed it. Chris Evans was really funny. And Julian McMahon was an excellent bad guy. I'll definitely see it again just because I'm a nerd like that. So I give it 3 out of 5 stars.

i think alot of people just expect too much of a movie... for instance...a critic that gives a bad review to a movie like fantastic four is usually one that has no prior knowledge of the franchise nor has he done any research for the movie like reading the comic books... hell even reading on how the comic came to be...

I loved the movie... I, unlike alot of people, thought the acting was just fine... yes maybe a few but very little parts were corny.... Julian McMahon was definitely a kick ass Dr Doom.... the action sequences were top notch in my opinion.... and hearing Ben Grimm and Johnny Storm saying their key phrases just brought a big smile to my face...

Im one of those fans who doesnt give a rats ass if a comic book movie sucks... you shouldnt let a weak ass critic who doesnt have any idea what the movie is about to decide your opinion

the only opinion that matters is that of the people who pay the money to see it

I give fantastic four 10/10 rating.

Wow Fantastic Four was Awsome.
I never watched the cartoon or read the comic but i loved the movie. I liked it better than X- Men because they went into each character very good. And I liked the specials effects better than Spiderman 2 because every big fight secne in Spiderman 2 looked like a video game. In Fantactic Four every character was done well.

Overall this movie is ok. I came out of the theater kind of disappointed. I know some of you are saying that everyone is going in with too high of a expectation and therefore that ruin the movie for them...but can you blame them? this is suppose to be a big summer movie and is advertise in that way. i mean i expected a lot out of batman begin and that movie fullfilled me in everyway...war of the world was ok to me but even it fullfilled me.

i thought acting-wise, everyone did a great job. i really thought the guy who played johnny storm/human torch did a tremedous job.

so i think the problem with the movie is behind the camerca...well except special effects. special effect, to me, was ok. it wasnt the best but it wasnt bad enough to ruin the movie experience. but i totally agree with CD's review about the director. the shooting is flat. it's like someone just tells tim story to shoot this movie and he does but puts no effort it to it...he just gets the job done. i guess what im saying is it lacks style. someone mentioned music was kind of awkward too. i agree. i thought at some part it could have been a lot more dramatic. there should have been better music to set better mood. i wanted to be engage in this movie like batman or war of the worlds but nothing let me to become engage with the character and the situation of the movie. the script/story could have been a lot better too. everything seems way to simplistic. i think even some of disney's cartoons are more complex than this movie.

but yeah not all was bad. some part i thought was really funny...especially the interaction between johnny storm and ben grimm. action scenes were entertaining.

but i see a lot of potential for this movie. i think with a different director the sequel could be really good.

i went with a group of friends. those who knew of the comics were disappointed. those who didnt have a clue of who the fantastic 4 were liked it. i dont know if that tell you anything but yeah that's my two cents.

The first time I saw The Fantastic Four was on Cartoon Network back in 1992 it was the 70's version I beleave and than I saw the Fox Kids version which was awsome but I still love the 70's version, that's what made me a fan. Than I read some of the comic books but I never got into them.

Now I have seen the movie, well the movie was great and funny. I don't why my friends didn't like it but I did. In the movie you will see them transforming and rocking it out ! You will also see Doc Doom blowing holes through people and b1tch slap Ben Grimm. I give this movie a 9/10.

If you liked this movie than Spider-man 1 & 2 is recommended.

Well I pretty much agree with BMW-666's review. 10 out of 10 for me too.

I enjoyed this movie tons. It was awesome. Not better than War of the Worlds, of couse, but then again, it's not like they're the same genres. I will even dare to say that this movie entertained me more than X-Men did (the first x-men). But perhaps it's because I didn't know F4 as much as X-Men, so for X-Men I was expecting what I had knowledge of.

But back to F4. I've heard from critics that there's too much discussion about their powers and whatnot, but that's actually what I LIKED about it. I liked the fact that there were intentions to "study" their powers and get the feel of them. I liked how they were using them for even "corny" situations. It was something I wish I saw more of in the X-Men movies. I WANT ORIGINS. I want to experience people's reactions to their new powers. That doesn't mean that I don't want any action at all, of course. It just means I want to understand the powers as much as the characters. And fortunately, this movie had perfect action. Not too little and not too much. Sure I could have had more fight scenes at least, but the ones in the movie still can suffice.

Visual effects were awesome, especially for the Human Torch. Damn he was cool, and so was his acting! Chris Evans may not be too well-known, but I sure as hell am a fan already. He did great in Cellular and now this. He did an awesome job. My friend, who knows heaps more about Fantastic Four and their personalities told me that he played Johnny Storm perfectly. He claimed that his personality was exactly how it was in the comics, how he'd pick on Ben constantly. So we both enjoyed him a lot.

I was a little iffy about certain things, namely when it jumped from one scene to another. For some parts it kinda lost me because the scenes transitioned too fast (like Doom quickly ending up Reed's apartment seconds after Reed is taken to Medical facilities, and then magically getting into contact with Ben to come back to the place after he had previously stormed out), but it's forgiveable and nothing major. The acting was good, the dialogue was good (even the supposed "corny" lines were good). I absolutely LOVED the character interactions.

All in all, a very cool and fun movie. I can't wait for a sequel if there surely is one.

It was FANTASTIC!!!

Not as good as Spider-Man 2 or Batman Begins, but I had alot of fun sitting in my theatre. A very enjoyable film. The f/x for Mr. Fantastic couldnt have looked faker though. And some lines we're real corny, but I really did like it.

i havnt seen the flick yet, but i want to personaly the role of torch should haev gone to at least paul walker.. notice how susan storm is mixed (she looked mixed to me) and torch is complelty white. I dont know its just me. but right now this movie looks alot better than that so called "canned version" from a long long ago. Mick is perfect as the thing.. its a twist most see the thing as a powerhouse in the comics.. so ya. Ioan well cant think of anyone else to play marvels "strech armstrong).. as you can see he has the best power (he can use them in other ways hint hint).

i liked the movie but it could of acted more serious i mean the director who has taxi and barber shop couldnt leave alot of humor back in those movies and made this movie acted more comedy into it then being superhero's but they could of at least made this movie a little more serious

I thought the cast did well, even if it was done a bit tongue-in-cheek. It was entertaining, and Julian McMahon was a good bad guy.

The real issue of peoaple liking versus dislking is just like stories from great works of literature: People can't get the comics (or book) they read and loved out of their heads. Comics are comics, and movies about comic characters are movies.

Overall, it was enjoyable, if you don't expect that the movie adds anything significant to society except giving people a diversion.

I saw it Friday and overall i liked it the acting was good Julian was exceptional i did not like the design of The Thing my cousin saw it with me and knew about the characters and thought it was the biggest crock of **** he's ever seen he thought it was worse than Hulk.

I give it 7/10 but i hope they do much better for the 2nd one and put in Galactacus and redo the Thing like they could just say that his body was fully forming.

I think they did just what they needed to do.
1st.
They have to introduce the characters (not everyone reads comics)
2nd.
They need to establish the relationship between the main characters.
3rd.
They have to explain, or show how the characters gained their super powers. (only the Mutants have an easy time in this area)
4th.
The new Super Powered Heros must battle a Super Villian.

I think they did all of these things, and well.

Granted I too would have liked more action (Just like the 1st Spiderman), but it was neccessary for the non-comic book reader.

Now they will be free to jump right in and have plenty of action in the sequal (if it makes over $150 million).

I think the actors did quite well. Alba showed some talent she hasn't shown before. Thing was good, John Storm was Dead on, in my opinion. and Reed was as you would expect.

I am looking forward to FF2 !!!!!!

ok, i just came back from seing F4. i havent read what anyone here has said. so some might or might not be repetitive...

the movie is GREAT!!!

a beautifull pop-corn movie.

johnny storm was awsome. so was the thing.

the whole movie was extremely well done.

the elements of the disfunctional family with a combo of great effects and fun and comedy is simply beautifull.

i still didnt believe that the the thing's suit looked like rock. the only thing that gave the illusion it was real rock was the sound editing. which is what i expected.

sue storm was perfectly cast. those who said jessica alba was a wrong choice, people you dont have a clue and thank god you weren't responsible for casting.

alicia was very well acted. even though it was a small role she was great.

chiklis was awsome. really acted the aprt well

mr fantastic was just great. played the cautious dork to perfection and was extremely serious when had to be. well done.

the director knew how to showcase the core of what the F4 was about.

Doom was fantasitc. he plays a bad guy really really well.

what didn't i like?

well not much. i was hoping for the fight scenes to be longer. but there werent any boring parts at all.

its a solid popcorn movie

i give it a 7.5-8 our of 10.

can't wait for the sequel.

I saw this movie on Saturday and I thought it was just OK. It had its moments don't get me wrong, but overall it was just OK.

Personally I couldn't buy Alba as Sue, I just kept seeing her as every character she's played before. It was also hard to buy Sue and Johnny as brother and sister, there really was no sibling relationship played out between the two. I mean there was much more of a sibling relationship between Johnny and Grim and they aren't even related. Though she looked unbelievable in the costume and in some other scenes.

As for Ioan, I thought he did a good Richards, he played the know way too much about everything role pretty well. Thats actually one of the reasons why I don't like the FF comics, but he had it down. Though the special stretching effects looked terrible, but I have always said no matter how good the special effects are it will always look bad.

Chiklis I thought did a good job, and the Thing was written well. Almost everything about the Thing was done well, except for the make-up. I liked the statuette that the company came up with( click here ) but the movie's actual result just looked like a guy in foam rubber.

Chris Evans did a spectacular job as the Torch and the relationship between him and the Thing was great. However I thought the special effect on him were a bit off but I still think they were good because I am aware that doing fire with CGI is one of the more difficult effects you can do.

And finally Julian McMahon was an awsome villian, I just didn't like the fact that they made him a billionare and have no diplomatic immunity, but hey what are ya going to do?

Overall I give it a 6, maybe a 7 out of 10. I don't think its in the caliber of The X-men, Spider-man, and Blade franchises, its more of a movie fans of the comic could truly appreciate like Daredevil and Hulk(both I happened to think were OK too, but still bought lol).

so u already came into the movie with negative approach since you arent an F4 fan.

it's a valid opinion never the less. so if a non-fan gave the movie a 6-7 out of 10, then imagine how the fan will see it

good review. a much valued opinion as far as im concerned

Thats not happening, considering that the movie rights to Galactus are owned by the studio that has the movie rights to the Silver Surfer, which from what I've heard will be awhile

Well I'll try to be fair and honest with all my reviews. You won't ever see me saying something like "It suck because its not Star Wars" or "It sucked because there just wasn't enough explosions". I hate it when people do that. I made sure to mention I wasn't a fan of the comics to let you know where I was comming from. Though I did like the movie more than the comic, but thats not saying much now that I think of it lol

I liked the movie, I do agree that some parts were cheesy, but if you look at all the marvel comics there are some cheesy parts in there too. The fantastic four were always cheesy, that was part of their character. thats what made them great.

I liked the action that was in the movie too, and I really like how they left it open for a sequal. I never knew nothing about the fantastic four before the movie, so when the end showed that DR. Doom was going back to Latveria , i thoguht that was cool.

over all i thought that it was a good movie.

It was alot better then I expected. I went in expecting a crappy movie because the way it was marketed sucked. The previews all sucked but the movie was awesome.

It had alot of great action scenes especially towards the end. Von DOom was a great villian and the fight between him and the Fantastic Four was "Fantastic". A little short but amazing none the less.

All in all it is a fun care free great summer movie. Not as good as Batman Begins but I liked in better then X2 and X-Men. Just as good as any of the Spider-Man movies in my opinion.

I am totally agree.
