March 5, 2001 — Amanda Detmer ("Saving Silverman") has been added to the cast of the Frank Darabont-directed "The Majestic" for Warner Bros. Pictures/Universal Pictures/Castle Rock Entertainment, says the Hollywood Reporter. The film is scheduled to begin shooting March 5. Detmer will be featured as a 1950s starlet who is the girlfriend of Jim Carrey's character. The script, written by Michael Sloane, centers on an ambitious blacklisted Hollywood screenwriter (Carrey) who loses his job and identity following a car accident and finds a new home in small town, where he is mistaken for a long-lost soldier who died. Detmer plays Carrey's Hollywood girlfriend.
