| How excited (or not) I am to see this movie... |

This movie may rock, but I am expecting it to blow hardcore until I see a trailer of some sort. I'm not too keen on the casting just yet. I have nothing against Brandon Routh, but Singer is trying to portray Superman as being gone for a couple years, and this is AFTER being a superhero for Metropolis for a (implied) fairly long time (it sounds like it is based off the same timeline as the movies, correct me if I am wrong...) which means Superman would be a man in his mid 30s (at least). So why the hell did they cast a 25 year old to play him? Yeah, I can see them making him seem older, but still. On top of that, they are casting Eva Marie Saint as Martha Kent. Great actress but she is fricking 81 years old!!! I don't recall Martha being THAT much older than superman. I mean, this isn't Aunt May we're talking about here.
So, yeah, they could be playing the Superman doesn't age bit. However, Singer cast Kate Bosworth as the seasoned veteran reporter, pride of the Daily Planet - Lois Lane... who happens to be a whopping 22 years old... what the hell are they thinking.... Unless they are using the plot from Smallville where Lois and Clark meet up in highschool and start their romance in their late teens none of this will make any sense.
All, the Actors/Actresses that Singer cast are great good at what they do, I just don't think Singer was quite sober when he picked some of the major players in this movie. Don't get me wrong. This movie could turn out to be the best in the franchise. But I'm not gonna hold my breath... |
