Box Office Mojo report SR has made a total of $200 millions now. To those who think it will never reach $200 millions: told you so!! I never expect it to make Spidey's numbers, but I did expect it to make at least $200 millions. Look like I was right. LMAO!

It's wierd I hated everything about the movie but I was rooting for it to hit $200MIL. I guess all those little numbers added up and I was completely wrong about it only staying in theaters for like a week in september. With this plan they might as well keep it in theaters 'til november 28 and beyond to get every little penny they can. Maybe they'll get an extra MIllion. ha! wait a minute I don't even have $100,000 what am I scoffing at?

Yeah, it took them long enough. But hey, at least it's made it & a sequel will happend. Didn't WB said if it make $200 millions, they will do a sequel? I know many haters said it won't reach $200 millions. Look like they're wrong. I'll take it.

I don't think us "haters" thought it wouldn't make it to 200 million just that it took this long to do it. Almost a half of a year to reach the goal? Sad... Batman which I don't believe had this much hype did how much business? Spiderman did more business in a much shorter time span.

What us "haters" were saying is that it is just a bad movie and we are laughing at how ridiculously long it took for an icon person like Superman to get this far. Which means that the movie sucked...

Only took 58 days for Batman Begins to hit 200mill...

Spider-man was only out for 108 days and brought in almost 3 times as much money as Superman. A character that is hardly as icon as Superman.

Point is do what people are wanting and there will be a high box office... do what you want and there will be a very low box office number but with very high expectations. IE Superman...

I couldn't have said it any better myself....Sadly, and I pray I'm wrong, the next film to suffer the same fate might be Transformers.

Your both right but the same could be said for any other movie that took that long to make 200 mil and it was viewed as a success so any amount of sarcasm is pretty much lost because it isn't the first movie to take a while to make it to a point and it won't be the last.

Not every movie that took this long to do it cost $270 million to make nor were they based on possibly THE most well known icon in history. The only possible films to compare this to are of Spider-Man, Batman, or X-Men but their budgets were nowhere near SR's yet ALL beat it. Facts are facts. No sarcasm here.

Hopefully. Fingers Crossed.
That is to say if history doesn't repeat itself and the directors, producers and sript writers choose to learn from their mistakes.

Well....they may not have learned anything because they think they did nothing wrong, but the studio execs already said the budget will max out at $150 mil if a sequel gets made which is $120 mil less than what we saw.

So Bryan Singer saying "I'm going all 'Wrath of Khan' style on the sequel" may be a bit premature. Mainly because there has yet to be an "official" announcement of a sequel and when WB said it needed to reach $200 mil domestic in order for them to consider one, they also stated they did not know if Singer would be the director. It was pointed out by one exec that Singer cut the opening scene completely which cost $10 mil by itself and basically blamed him for the entire lack of box office.

I'd give it until about the end of the year before we hear "officially" what's gonna happen.

I think all superhero films should get past comic writers to work and tune the story or improve it on some level. Like even though Spider-Man is an awesome franchise it could still benefit from the writers approving and editing the script for everyone to enjoy.

While that would be great if everyone enjoy a new movie, but sadly it can never happend. No movie can make everyone happy. Not even an ordinary movie. Especially comic book movies, where fanboys go amok & bitch over and over when it's not done what they want. Even if one try what a fan want, others won't feel the same. I think that why Kevin Smith refuse to do a comic book movie. Blame it on whiny fanboys for that. I know he was going to do a Green Hornet, but he abandon it & I think fanboys are part of that. Nothing is perfect, so you can't make everyone happy no matter how hard you try. Oh well.

Hmm. I can't tell if this is film making or politics. I would say it's denial but I honestly believe that they truly believe there own nonsense.
$150MIL should've been the budget from the get go. Then if the movie did well gradually increase the budget for every sequel if every sequel was profitable that is. and now so the question still remains. What the hell did they spend that money on?
wrath of kahn? just sounds like a little optimism on singers part. while singer is to blame the execs have to take some responsibility as well. I'm sure they've read the script and since there in charge of financing I know they would checked in frequently to have meetings with directors over budget concerns. They alllowed singer spend too much with a movie that look like it had a $60MIL budget. They can't just pass the buck here.
Hopefully included in any upcoming news of a sequel they'll be mention of some big changes.

K FINALLY!!!!, now that after we finished with a bad 1st one, now we can move on to better things. Hopfully they realize what singer did with returns and give it an extreme re-vamp and make it actually "good". Returns was good, but totally not what i expected from a superman movie. Hopefully it goes uphill from here.

As long as they keep on track with everyone involved with SR this kind of thinking and logic is deeply flawed.
