dont get me wrong.. i love the old scooby doo cartoons.. they are classics.. but trying to make a cartoon into a live movie is a bad idea.. and not only that u try and mix computer animation with live actors its even worse.. it might have been better if they used a real dog because the scooby they use is so fake its terrible.. this is one of the worst movies ever.. stay away from it..

Not everyone seems to agree with your opinions...

Live-action flick Scooby Doo may have been critically panned, but movie producers are so pleased with last weekend's box office earnings that they're working on a sequel. Warner Brothers announced on Monday that Freddie Prinze, Jr.,Sarah Michelle Gellar, Linda Cardellini and Matthew Lillard would all return for the second installment, which is set for a 2004 release. Never Been Kissed director Raja Gosnell is expected to return as well to helm the sequel. Warner distribution president Dan Fellman gushes, "Certainly the success of the opening exceeds our highest expectations." Last weekend, the antics of computer generated Scooby and his pals Fred, Daphne, Velma and Shaggy generated $56.4 million at the U.S. box office.

Sarcastic is mean, it's heavy -- it's funny, sure, but it's mean. I do both, but this was flip.

In my opinion, I hated the guy who played Shaggy. He was the worst part of the movie.LOL

I thought the movie was good and Matthew Lilliard did a great job playing shaggy because thats how shaggy waas pertrayed in the cartoon. Also you had to do a computer animated scooby because there would have been no way a real dog could do what scooby does. They had every aspect covered right down to Thelma saying "Jinkers".

Ok. There was a skit on Saturday Night Live and they did a spoof on Scooby Doo where Rob Lowe played Shaggy. He did an even better job than Matthew Lilard and he wasn't even trying. He even looked more like him. I watched the cartoons constantly when I was a little kid and I never wanted this idea to be transfered to a live action atmosphere. They were doing good just the way they were with the direct-to-video cartoon movies. They just wanted more money in their pockets in my opinion.

I think the scooby Doo movie was really good. Originally i thoguht they should have had a real dog play scooby doo, but once i saw the movie i think its way better that they didnt. not only would it have been extremely difficult to find dog that looked like him, it would be even harder to get him to act lik that. Heeheehee, my favorite part of the Scooby Doo movie was Velma's friend. . .. . MMMM MMMMM, Charles Cousins! But UGGG, there isnt anythign about him on the internet. I think they should have him in the second movie.

yeah they probably couldn't use a real dog but still could have done a better job with the CGI one.. very disappointing.. wonder who created it?? anyone know?

Viper, if you don't like the movie, that's fine. Then why come here?

Anyway, I loved the movie a lot more than I expected to. There are tons of inside jokes, like all the drug references with Shaggy or the lesbian references with Velma.
And speaking of Velma, the girl who plays her is freaking hot. The deleted scenes on the DVD with her in the bikini and with her singing were amazing.

I loved that Shaggy was in love with Mary Jane.

Or how the thing that looked to destroy Scooby Doo was Scrappy Doo, the one thing that almost destroyed Scooby Doo in the 80's.

That was too funny.
