Here's something 'out there'... why not bypass Pred 3 altogether? Predator one was amazing - all action, no 'clever' dialogue and an awesome
predator design. Predator 2 was also great, same action, same simple plot and an awesome predator design. AVP.....put it this way: fat predators, aliens growing at an expotential rate (ignoring the fact that this happened in alien ), and predators making best pals with some stupid slag. I mean, how retarded is that line where she says 'Im coming with you' to the pred? If i was him i would have laid some serious spear-wielding smack down on her ass! But I digress......my point is, the alien and predator franchises (it hurts me to call them that) were raped and ruined by this terrible film. Granted they made an 'effort' to link up the films by having Weyland in it pre-aliens style, and the fact that Pred 2 had an alien skull in the trophy room at the end. (Despite the fact that the aliens don't have skulls made of bone but ill let that slide as it was so good otherwise). However, no amount of 'clever' side notes can make up for the fact that this was a truly awful film. As a result the have shoved the franchises into a corner that won't be easy to get out of as every alien/pred film that gets made from now on will have to make some reference to that piece of s**t unless they are set in a totally different time. What should have been done with AVP was that it was based around the pc games which were awesome. My suggestion for Pred 3, therefore, is to a) Let it go! Let the cinematic genius that was the first 2 films rest on their laurels and do no more. b) Get back one of the original directors/writers like John Mc Tiernan. Get a really good story and while making a fleeting reference to AVP, basically ignore it otherwise. c) Do not use any f**king cg effects! I hate them so much! In moderation, yes, but when you have more or less abolished the need for the spectacular costume designers who worked on the original films you have lost out big time.
