Marvel Comics has signed a deal to turn one of its superheroes, the Black Panther, into a primetime animated series for BET, starting early next year.

Variety says BET made the announcement at its upfront presentation in New York as the highlight of a batch of new series being readied for the 2008-09 season, under the supervision of Reginald Hudlin, president of entertainment for BET.

BET is such a joke. I'm ashamed of Marvel for doing this. BET obviously wants the character because he's black and that's it. They don't know or care anything about the character. Bunch of racist shites they are.

I actually think this is a good ideal because this way Black children can have a Black superhero that's very postive, a genius, a political leader, and a King to look up to. Instead of having these little kids look up to these rappers.

Anybody watch the banned Boondocks episode? Even they diss BET. Bad move for Marvel. Airing such a great character on such a sleazy channel.
