| How excited (or not) I am to see this movie... |

| Batman Begins is much more than just a simple movie. It gives new hope to so many possibilities. First off, I really do believe that everyone involved in this project (especially the suits) realized that the current Batman saga was totally destroyed with Batman and Robin (Batman Forever was awesome in a pg-13 kind of way)and it is a shame because with the right writers and direction, Mr. Freeze's story could have been heart felt by all. But with starting over with "Batman Begins", not only can you delete the current image of Batman: rubber nipples and all, but you also get to start over with the villains in future sequels (namely Bane). For what I foresee with the series this time around is a focus more on the comic book atmosphere, a darker bunch of films that wont so easily cater to teenie boppers. The "Knightfall" series was an awesome story to be told by DC, and yet I was horrified to see Bane, the guy who broke the bat, materialize in a bat flick as blithering idiot henchman for freakin Poison Ivy(whom they could have saved for the Catwoman movie). Hopefully this time the Batman series can be somewhat like a james bond type series where the story doesnt have to end after only a few movies, because after Batman Begins, of course you want to see the joker again, catwoman again, but further down the series I would like to see the Knighfall series(maybe made up of two movies, Knightfall and Knightquest) Azrael and all. I would have to give the same advice to the Superman project whenever it materialize, and that is to give the movie a more comic book feel and dont worry about if it seems a tad bit more realistic and violent than current watered down movies, because remember, comic books are basically made for youngsters to begin with. I mean "come on", the Superman project is begging for the Doomsday story to be told( I mean to put live action visuals with that story would be awesome) so dont worry about the harder edged stories, because in the end, that is what it is going to take to make these new projects into something people will want to watch again. |
