September 29, 2001 — Derek Zoolander (Ben Stiller, Meet the Parents) is a self-involved, simple-minded, but likeable ubermodel. He's revered not only in the rag trade, but all over the world.
Enter newcomer, Hansel (Owen Wilson, Meet the Parents). He's a blonde, buff beach boy who threatens Zoolander's place at the top of the haut heap. When Zoolander loses his couture crown to Hansel in a humiliating public defeat, he contemplates retiring.
"I'm pretty sure there's more to life than just being really, really, really good looking, and I plan on finding out what that is," he says to his agent, Maury Ballstein (Dad, Jerry Stiller, The Independent) of Balls Models. Zoolander declares that he is going to found an organization for underprivileged children and call it "The Derek Zoolander Foundation For Kids Who Can't Read Good. And Want To Do Other Stuff Good, Too."
